02/16/2023 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up | Passed | I SENT HISTORIC ADMINISTRATOR MICHAEL TAKU A PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING AND ASKED HIM IF A PERMIT WOULD BE REQUIRED, I HAVE NOT HAD A RETURN CALL OR EMAIL FROM MR TAKU BUT DID RECEIVE A CALL FROM RICK SALDATE, INFORMED HIM THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL DAME THAT THE SMALL AMOUNT OF DAMAGE WAS UNDER THE WINDOW, THERE WERE NO IMMINENT HAZARDS AND POSSIBLE CRACK INSIDE, EXPLAINED THE DAMGE TO THE STUCCO AND BRICK AND INCLEUDED THE SIZE, RICK FELT THAT A PERMIT WOULD NOT BE REQUIRED. I CONTACT THE LEAD MAINTANENCE PERSON AND INFORMED HIM THAT A PERMIT WOULD NOT BE REQUIRED AND WORK COULD BEGIND RIGHT AWAY. I ALSO HIM THAT IF THERE WERE ANY PROBLEMS HE COULD CONTACT ME FIRST. THERE ARE NO FURTHER ISSUES. COMPLIANCE / CLOSE CASE. | |
02/15/2023 | COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial | In Violation | VISITED SITE, MET WITH SEVERAL TPD OFFICERS. TPD STATED PERSON IN THE BLACK DODGE CHARGER WAS DRIVING IN THE FAR EAST LANE HEADING NORTH ON EUCLID, LOST CONTROL, CROSSED OVER TO THE WEST SIDE OF THE STREET, JUMPED THE CURB, HIS A CONCRETE RETAINING WALL ONLY 18 INCHES IN HEIGHT AND 8 INCHES THICK PROCEEDED FORWARD AND HIT TWO CARS PARKED IN THE FRONT YARD/DRIVEWAY DAMAING BOTH CARS AND PUSHING ONE OF THE CARS INTO THE FRONT WALL OF A HISTORIC STRUCTURE. THE DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE WAS APPROX 32 INCHES WIDE, 16 INCHES IN HEIGHT DAMAGING THE STUCCO AND ONE SIDE OF A DOUBLE BRICK WALL. THERE WAS CRACKING TO THE PLASTER INSIDE BUT THE OLD STRUCTURE MAY HAVE HAD PREVIOUS CRACKING. MAINTANENCE PERSON WAS ON SITE WORKING ON A REAR UNIT. HE CONTACTED THE OWNER RIGHT AWAY AND I LATER CONTACTED HER AND GAVE A FULL ASSESMENT OF THE DAMAGE. I TRIED CONTACTING RICK SALDATE TO DETERMINE IF A PERMIT WAS REQUIRED AS THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING AS THE DAMAGE WAS DONE BELOW THE WINDOW. BRICK MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH CONCRETE BLOCK AND THEN STUCCOED. A MESSAGE WAS SENT TO R/S BUT A RETURN MESSAGE WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY SENT SO I ISSUED A FIELD NOV FOR PERMITS REQUIRED WHILE ON SITE. I INFORMED THE MAINTANENCE PERSON THAT I DID CONTACT HISTORICAL INSPECTOR AND SHOULD HAVE A ANSWER CONCERNING THE PERMIT THE FOLLOWING DAY.. GARY'S TOWING REMOVED THE BLACK CHARGER, SECURING WAS NOT REQUIRED. |
