02/06/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Initial In Violation Office called that T.F.D. on site with a building fire. Arrived and all the units have left the site and the fire investigators were on site checking for cause. The site went into crime scene and were in the process of getting the warrant. Left the site and will be called back when completed. The building has new owner and received the info to call the new owner when the investigation is completed. The interior was completely involved in the fire. Windows and doors have been burned out. RV.
02/06/2023 COT - ENFC - Code Enforcement - Follow Up In Violation T.F.D. called that the investigation is completing. Arrived and the fire units were called back due to smoke coming from the ceiling attic area. Vent holes were cut in the roof to check for extension of the fire in the attic area. The fire was in the sprayed insulation in the attic area. The building was vacant and under construction and almost completed. The kitchen equipment was not involved in the fire and has heavy smoke damage through out. The walls and ceiling has heavy smoke damage away from the fire area. Has broken windows and glass doors where the glass was broken from the heat that were in the fire area. The owner is not able to secure and gave permission to call the City of Tucson contractor to secure the site. The owner signed the paperwork on site. The drywall ceiling was pulled down on the east side of the building and in the middle was also pulled down in areas to check for fire in the attic area. The electrical was removed at the disconnect due to has 3-Phase to the building. The gas was pinned at the meter and was not connected. Has a set up for testing on the pressure test for the gas line to get the clearance to have the gas turned back on. The metal doors were able to lock and boarded up all other openings. Did do the posting of Do Not Enter on all 4-sides on the plywood. Arcaiden Industries was called to the site to board up the property. Did advise for the owner to check if the existing permit has to be renewed on making the repairs for like for like or can keep the same permit but has had some inspection and will need to be inspected.
