Electric meter was locked off and gas service locked off prior to the fire. Per TFD, neighbor to the wast was supplying power to this home. Did find extension cords daisy chained and leading into front door. Found a Predator generator on the floor of the living room. Holes are cut into ceiling. There is smoke damage on the walls and ceiling. There is a broken front window, a broken rear window, an unsecured rear window and all 3 doors are broken in / unsecure. The front beam of the front porch is detached from the foundation and was found pushed in towards the house. Repairs are required for all posts of the front porch. There was no contact number available for the owner. The residents of the home state they were subletting a room from the actual lease holder of the property who came home and then left, and the fire broke out. City contractor was called out to secure the structure. Windows were boarded and/or screwed shut and all three doors were screwed shut. All repairs shall be made by a licensed contractor with an Issued Residential Addition Alteration Permit. While on site, was approached by a neighbor who stated there has been lots of activity with people coming and going from this residence, and they think the house is being used to sell drugs out of. -VM |
