TZ-CMP-0723-00146 Approved 07/26/2023 N/A Zoning Compliance The residents of McCormick Place II are governed by a Home Owners Association (HOA). We are comprised of 112 units and one clubhouse, including pool and spa. The address of the clubhouse is our legal mailing address: 4107b East La Cienega Drive, Tucson AZ 85712 We would like to erect a temporary sun shade (approximately 10’x20’) over the shallow end of our pool, secured by wooden poles (4x4 weather treated) anchored in cement located outside the cemented fenced-in swimming pool on one end and secured to the clubhouse permanent parapet on the other. A shade has been in place before for over 3 years and was removed because some members of the HOA board say the city has specs and/or requires a permit for the shade. The original sun shade was removed because it appeared unsafe (stretched by nylon rope which was unwrapping). The board member(s) have not provided city permit or specs in writing to the residents and the residents are questioning this. Can you clarify if the city has requirements and advise us of what those requirements are? We are eager to put up the shade again as temperatures rise and summer ends. Thank you. Please let us know if you have any questions or need further information. Peggy Croes HOA Board of Directors Member at Large pcroes@cox.net (609) 577-3490
