Their sum for this section totaled $886,193.34 and should have totaled $455,885.99. This created an overstatement of total project costs by $430,307.35 – and consequently an overpayment of inspection fees of $21,515.37. Please note – there is no debate on quantities or costs – only a formula error in the document presented by the contractor. To further this, the engineer of record has provided a letter stating they have verified quantities for the complete project. Mattamy paid this fee – so any refund would be appropriately returned to Mattamy Tucson LLC.
