TC-RES-1222-01532 Withdrawn 12/14/2022 N/A Residential Building - One or Two Family This is a detached/free standing wood pergola. Since the pergola is under 200 sq.ft, I have been told that it does not have to comply with 2018 IRC code, but this is my first time going through this process, so I’m not exactly sure what you guys need to see in my plans. I have included some pictures of a 3D model that I have constructed with the actual dimensions and overall construction and I will give you all of the information I can. If I've submitted this in the wrong place, you need more information, or you need more detailed plans, please let me know. The pergola will be built on a newly poured concrete pad that is just outside of my back patio and will be approximately 17 feet from the nearest property line. The main posts will be 6”x6” and secured to the pad using Simpson Strong-Tie brackets. The headers and rafters will be 2”x12”s and the roof slats will be 2”x4”s. All of the wood will be western red cedar. The measurement of the posts is 11’x13’ and the measurement of the headers is 13’x15’, which I believe makes it either 143 sq.ft. or 195 sq.ft. depending on what measurement you want to use. The overall height will be approximately 9’.
