TC-RES-0724-04382 | Needs Resubmittal | 07/28/2024 | N/A | Residential Building - One or Two Family | We received a Notice of Violation from the Code Enforcement Division that we did not submit a permit to place an 8' wide x 8' tall x 20' long shipping container on our property. Since it's moveable (not attached to the ground) and less than 200 square feet, we didn't think a permit was required based on information provided on the Planning and Development Services Department website here ("It is the homeowner/property owner’s responsibility to provide plans and obtain a permit for detached accessory structures *over 200 square feet* [e.g. Storage Sheds]) https://www.tucsonaz.gov/Departments/Planning-Development-Services/Permits/Residential-Permits#:~:text=Additionally%2C%20walls%20and%20fences%20over,Remodeling%20of%20existing%20structures and here (Single story detached accessory structures that are 200 sf or less in area and don't have electrical are exempt from construction permits per table 3): https://www.tucsonaz.gov/Departments/Planning-Development-Services/Permits/Building-Permit-Exemptions We want to be compliant with the Code, but we're confused! |
