TC-RES-0126-00229 In Review 01/16/2026 N/A Residential Building - One or Two Family We will be replacing the gas line from the meter to the appliances. This will be same for same due to the same distances. Scope of Work Picture Rocks Cooling, Heating & Plumbing proposes to install a new gas line to replace the existing line due to a confirmed gas leak located beneath the home. For safety, code compliance, and long-term reliability, a new exterior gas line will be installed from the gas meter to all applicable appliances. Work Description We will contact Arizona 811 prior to excavation to verify and mark all underground utilities within the proposed dig area. We will contact the City of Tucson and pull all required permits to install a new gas line from the gas meter to the home. A new ¾-inch gas line will be installed starting at the gas meter and routed across the yard, then up the exterior wall of the building. The gas line will penetrate the roof and be routed across the roof, properly supported at five-foot intervals in accordance with code requirements. A tee will be installed to supply the water heater, including: A new roof penetration A new gas shutoff valve A new approved flexible gas connector The main gas line will continue to supply the furnace and stove, routed through approved venting pathways where applicable. The gas line will remain ¾-inch until transitioning to ½-inch at each appliance, where new gas shutoff valves and flexible connectors will be installed. A tracer wire will be installed alongside the new gas line for future identification and servicing. Testing & Inspection Upon completion of the installation, a gas pressure test will be performed over a three-hour period to verify system integrity and confirm there are no leaks. After successful testing, we will coordinate with the City of Tucson to complete all required inspections for the newly installed gas line.
