Ames Construction would like to install a median crossover on Houghton Road. Ames will remove landscape rock and plants located within the median. Ames will asphalt pave 4" of 409 AC for temporary use. The median crossover will occur approximately 350' into the City of Tucson Right of Way that ties into the ADOT Houghton Road project. Once the phasing work is completed, Ames Construction will remove the asphalt section and reinstall all landscaping and plants and slopes and drainage ditches and decorative rock and roadway markings and striping and asphalt surface to their original condition at the conclusion of work. Prior to the commencement of clearing and excavation work, the Contractor shall submit photographs and native plant inventory along the proposed utility route to TDOT Landscape Architect, David Marhefka at David.Marhefka@tucsonaz.gov. The work to relocate the existing plants will be completed by the COT contractor. Ames Construction will reimburse the City of Tucson the cost of relocating the existing plants, the cost for the relocation will be $5,275.18. Ames Construction will coordinate with the COT Landscape Architect prior to any demo activities or paving. Ames will provide and install a 4" Schedule 40 PVC sleeve under the pave and connect the existing irrigation under the pavement for the traffic change to that the remaining vegetation will still receive irrigation. The sleeve must extend 2' beyond the new pavement on both sides. Please notify David Marhefka, (520) 403-5074 prior to the start of this work so that he can arrange to be on site during the demo and installation of the sleeve and connection of the irrigation. Ames Construction will return the site to existing condition, including plant materials, rock ground cover, reconnection to irrigation including emitters to vegetation. Contact David Marhefka and Michael Marietti prior to the time the project area is ready to be returned to existing condition for coordination.
