| REQ-0925-05680 | Complete | 09/12/2025 | 09/18/2025 | Requests | *BUILDING PERMIT RECORDS UPLOADED. The Planning and Development Services Department maintains Building permits, plans, and code violation cases. All building permit records for the requested address can be found online at https://pro.tucsonaz.gov. We encourage you to search by address and parcel to locate all relevant information. You can view and print any documents on Property Research online by selecting each blue activity box and scrolling down to documents if available. I am helping my parents to try and find historical records for their home located at 2516 E. 8th Street, Tucson, AZ 85716 (Sam Hughes neighborhood). The house is owned by my parents (Brooks Family Trust / John and Carol Brooks) and before that by my grandparents since 1954 (Elbert and Charlotte Brooks). We believe the house was built in 1929, although the Pima County Assessor site shows 1946. Our understanding is there was a major remodel in 1946. Do you have copies (or dates, if copies are unavailable) of the following: 1. The original building permit or earliest recorded construction permit for this address. 2. Any certificate of occupancy or equivalent documentation for the initial construction. 3. Any major remodel/alteration permits, especially those around 1946, which may explain the year listed by the Assessor. If digital copies are not available, I would appreciate guidance on how to access them (in-person review, microfilm, or archives). Thank you for your assistance in clarifying the property’s construction history. Sincerely, David Brooks |
